ELIANA JIMENO

Eliana is a political scientist from Bogotá and has an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution of American University thanks to a Fulbright scholarship. Currently, she is researching the role of symbolic reparations in post-conflict societies. Her main interests are designing memorialization programs that address the psychological needs of victims, as well as building trust between victims and local institutions.

Throughout her professional career, Eliana has worked on the effect impact of the Colombian conflict. She recently worked as a consultant for three years with Colombia’s National Center for Historical Memory, strengthening the capacities of local authorities and victims’ organizations in the design and promotion of historical memory initiatives. Previously, she worked at Bogota’s internal displaced population unit, advising victims about the city’s integral assistance programs.
