Maja is a lawyer with a particular interest and expertise in the field of transitional justice and rule of law, with special focus on reconciliation, peace and good governance initiatives. She holds an LLM in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice from the School of Oriental and African Studies SOAS, University of London, and LLB from the University of Sarajevo. While working for different projects and organizations, she has provided policy-oriented research and advisory assistance on legal and human rights issues to national and international beneficiaries and has developed particular experience in institutional strengthening, conflict transformation and peace education.  She is an alumna of the GYC programs in USA and Rwanda and has received several international recognitions, including the Peace and Conflict Resolution Rotary Peace Fellowship at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok (Thailand); Excellence Award for Best Short Story, awarded by the association Women's Forum of the Mediterranean and UNESCO; Ambassador of Intercultural Blogging for Human Rights as well as the Spanish Agency for International Development and the OPEC Fund for International Development Scholarship Awards.
