Social Media Chair
Andrew Sokulski is an international affairs and finance professional specializing in Japan. He currently works for the New York research office of IR Japan, a Japanese financial consulting company.
Growing up in Houston, Texas as the son of a multicultural family, Andrew has been interested in promoting diplomacy and the importance of intercultural understanding since he was young. As an undergraduate student, Andrew studied abroad in Kyoto City (Japan) at the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies with CIS Abroad. Since his return to the US, Andrew has remained active in the field of international education having served as a Global Peer Advisor at The New School and an Alumni Ambassador for CIS Abroad.
Andrew completed the BA in Global Studies with a minor in Japanese at Eugene Lang College and an MA in International Affairs from The New School. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Professional Studies in Applied Intelligence at Georgetown University.
With a firm knowledge of international human rights, the importance of learning abroad, and the growing need to both understand and cooperate with people who hold various perspectives and interact in different cultures, Andrew is dedicated to fulfilling the mission of GYC and to ensuring that human rights education continues to grow and expand globally.
