Maren Hurley is a youth advocate and community organizer, and currently serves as the Career Development Coordinator for the Center for Community Alternatives in Brooklyn, NY. Maren holds a BA in Global Studies and Race & Ethnicity Studies from The New School, where she focused on genocide studies, mass incarceration, and intergenerational movement building.
While completing her undergraduate, Maren was both a 2017 SIT International Honors Fellow and a 2017 Eugene Lang Social Science Research Fellow. In 2018, she was awarded the New School Community Leadership Award for her prison abolition and peer health advocacy work.
Maren joins the board excited to bring her youth advocacy, program development, and fundraising skills to the Global Youth Connect team. She hopes to support youth in developing strong passions for human rights, equity, and justice around the world.
