Rosalind October has a balanced community life in both theater/culture and academia. In addition to being a well-traveled dancer and choreographer/instructor, Rosalind is an actor and has been a stage manager for many Caribbean theatrical productions. She has over 45 years in the artistic arena as a performer. To her credit, she has received many awards for her community involvement, in addition to Proclamations and Citations from New York Senators and Councilmembers in recognition for her work that continues to uplift and advance communities.
Professionally, Rosalind holds an associate degree in Human Services from the Borough of Manhattan Community College, a bachelor’s degree in social work from Herbert Lehman College, a master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University, and a Ph.D. in Advanced Behavioral Studies from Capella University. Her credentials include a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) from 2005 -2017, and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). Currently, Rosalind is a faculty member in the Human Services Division at State University of New York (SUNY)/Empire State College, in Brooklyn where she enjoys teaching and mentoring adult learners.
