Tamsen Bhachech
GYC Board Member

Tamsen is one of the original founding members of Global Youth Connect and has been Chair of the Board of Directors since 1998. 

A native of California she traveled to Massachusetts after high school to attend Mount Holyoke College where she graduated with a major in political philosophy in 1996.  During college she was a volunteer coordinator for the campus community service organization and a hotline volunteer for the local women’s shelter.  After graduation she moved to Boston where she worked for various organizations that focus on mediation, negotiation and international peace building.  In particular, she spent two years working for a foundation that supports women working to bring and sustain peace in areas of conflict. 

In 2000, she attended Santa Clara Law School where she continued to pursue her interest in social justice by chairing the Women and Law Scholarship Banquet and working at the Northern California Innocence Project for several semesters. 

She currently lives in Washington with her husband and two boys and works for Microsoft while still providing support, encouragement and energy to Global Youth Connect.
