Jen Gherardi Before relocating to the West Coast in the fall of 2010, Jen was Director of Media and Nonprofit Partnerships at WellGood LLC, a New York City-based consulting and marketing firm providing strategic planning, web implementation, public relations and marketing services to help nonprofits fulfill their missions. She worked closely with nonprofit partners to foster knowledge-sharing, expand networks and help develop integrated online fundraising and marketing strategies, as well as strategizing to create more effective donor communications. Jen is currently active in several internationally focused nonprofit groups. She is a project consultant for the Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy (PODA) in Islamabad, Pakistan, providing technical assistance in donor reporting, proposal writing, budget preparation and donor cultivation. Jen has also recently joined the Board of the Coalition for Global Dialogue, a Santa Barbara, California-based organization that develops public programs to foster open dialogue about issues of global importance. Jen has served as Associate Program Director at the American Forum for Global Education in New York City. In this capacity, she directed Youth Leadership Development Programs to Turkey and to the Ukraine, and organized a World Affairs Challenge event on child rights in which high school students presented research for a panel of NGO experts and UN representatives. Jen was project manager and editor for several curriculum resources including Spears, Plows and Seeds: A World History of Technology and Food Production, The Search for Identity: Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States and Teaching Contemporary South Asia, a web-based curriculum resource funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. In addition to her 15 years of experience working with nonprofits, Jen has extensive experience living and working in several regions of the world including Pakistan, India, China, Mexico, Central America, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey and New Zealand. She graduated from Oberlin College with a BA in History, and holds a Master’s degree in Comparative and International Education from Columbia University. |
